(Prunus laurocerasus) also known as common laurel is an evergreen species. The same applies to the Long Leaf Laurel.
Growth rate is average to fast, 2-3 feet per year. Likes being planted in either normal or dry soil, sun or full shade.
(Prunus lusitanica) is a species of Flowering plant in the rose family.
Typically grows at a moderate rate, adding 1-2 feet per year.
They can be planted in full sun or full shade, making them suitable for various locations.
(Photinia) a beautiful evergreen and vibrant red hedge. Average growth of about 40/50cm per year. Photinia can be planted in full sun or partial shade and is suited to all soil types provided moist soils have good drainage.
Leylandii is a very fastest-growing hedge. Growing at 70-90cm per year. Leylandii will continually grow if left to do its own thing. So it’s important that regular pruning is maintained. Thriving in most soils but well drained. Can be planted on full to partial sun.
(Fagus sylvatica) is a popular deciduous tree typically used for hedging and screening purposes. It's known for its vibrant green foliage, Turning copper in the Autumn but, often retains leaves throughout the winter, providing some screen and a decorative touch. Moderately fast growing at around 30 to 50cm per year. Well drained soil in full sun or partial shade.
(Euonymus japonicus) A lovely evergreen shrub popular for its very dense, rich glossy green foliage and upright, columnar growth habit. It's often used for hedges on borders, and topiary, providing all year-round small hedge detail to your garden. This is a great replacement for box hedging due to not suffering from moth blight. Drained soil and full sun preferred.
(Crataegus monogyna)This is a popular boundary plant. It's a native UK plant known for its dense, thorny growth and great for promoting wildlife, birds and bee’s. Lovely spring flowers, and autumn berries. Ideal for keeping out unwanted guests. Growing about 40 to 60cm per year. A very hardy plant happy in most soils.
Various types of clumping and running bamboo available. Care is to be taken when planting some species due to being invasive.
